NON-DIET APPROACHES promoting sustainable healthy eating patterns

The Non-Diet Approach, as conceptualised by dietitian Fiona Willer of Health Not Diets, is the clinical application of the Health at Every Size (HAES)® guiding principles. It acknowledges that body weight in itself does not matter and that weight loss dieting causes more harm than good. This approach offers us practical ways to take care care of ourselves and to respect the body we have now. It considers all aspects of health - mental, emotional, spiritual, financial and physical and allows us to jump off the weight loss-regain rollercoaster and focus on the health-promoting behaviours which enhance our wellbeing right now.
